Zune live at the BBQ

Wow, this concert definitely exceeded all expectations. First off it's a beautiful location, nestled between the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge. We arrived at about 3:30 and it didn't start yet just some DJ mixing, so we sat down under a Weeping Willow tree, and I remembered Harry Potter, random yes, i know. So the first performer was Joel Ortiz, he was alright, didn't care for him, because i never heard of him. Then Baby Cham came on, being the nuff Jamaicans that we are we started screaming like little school-girls. Cham was a very good performer, he danced, he sang and broke our hearts when he left. Of course he did a big up to the yardies, and even came closer to our section. And we got some pictures and even a video. After that some guy was playing a mix-tape of some crap. Afterwards we saw Jadakiss, we were all surprised then more people came out, and then we knew it was The Lox, they started out with "All about the Benjamins" and Yolene and I rapped along with such enthusiasm that I felt like a proud parent. They played various songs that I might be too young or naive to know or remember but they also played some that we knew. They played "I Get High" and everyone started singing along I even faintly smelt weed. After that Clipse came out, and guess what Shampoo is out of jail, (I learnt that when everyone shouted welcome back). They played Chinese New Year, Grinding, Mr. Me Too, and Ride Around Shining. The crowd went wild, we took a picture of the crowd behind us and the place was packed! Afterwards Grand Nubian came on, so we decided to go back to the pier and look at the water while he was performing, I didn't see a crowd for him, but then again I wasn't wearing my glasses all the time. Afterwards we got something to eat, and waited in line for about half an hour, the rice was really good, but the meat could've been better. So anyways back to concert. A big surprise was in store for us. We went back to the stage, and we saw some sirens, out initial guess was of course, Beyonce, but it wasn't her. We then saw a guy climb on the scaffolding of the stage to re-arrange some lights, almost falling many times. Then we saw a mic stand that said "LL Cool J". Shock of the century indeed. Everyone within ear shot of us was teasing him, calling him a diva, asking questions like "Who the hell does this nigga think he is? Why does he need fifty towels, props and roses?" We asked the same questions too. But he was a good performer throwing in some old school jams, and inviting the ladies on stage. He even had a very sparkly t-shirt that read "I heart Hip Hop", pictures we will show because that shirt was extremely homolicous. All in all the concert was great, it was free and it actually felt like summer. Pictures should be up soon enough, if Chad decides to send them.

What the fx up this weekend?

As the title that I stole from those Truth commercial says, what's going on this weekend.

Saturday August 4th, 2k7
Live at the BBQ presented by Zune [3pm-10 pm]
It's just a HUGE bbq with some familiar artists such as Brand Nubian, Cham, Large Professor, Clipse, MIMS, Joell Ortiz and many more. If hip-hop's not your thing then go for the food, that's definitely the main reason for going to this thing. It's the last of their summer series, so remember kids you have to go back to your institution of higher learning pretty soon.First off, you need a ticket if you're interested in guaranteed entry, because according to them it will sell out quicker than the one in Chicago which I guess sold pretty quick? As for location as of now it's still to be determined......... So either do a google search every five minutes or maybe you'll see it here. Oh yeah there will be tons of Zune merch there, but hold out on buying a Zune just for now because i hear they're making another one, let's hope they're not like Apple who makes a new one every 5 months but it ends up being the same thing.
EDIT: If you look on your ticket you'll see the location, DUMBO,Brooklyn. And tickets are sold out, so if you wanted to go and didn't get a ticket sucks for you. Also you need an I.D to enter and if you have anyone under the age of 15 with you, they need a ticket plus a legal guardian or parent.

Anyways, I'm not interested in any of these bands, never cared to do a google or myspace search, so are they any good, I really don't know, but it's free so I just slapped it up there. RSVP just in case at going.com, TVOTR got pretty crowded and they actually closed the RSVP line, will this happen to these random people, I doubt it.
EDIT: Apparently the RSVP line is closed once again, my mistake Blonde Redhead is actually quite well known, whoops. I didn't want to see them so oh well.

Big up to Chad, Happy Birthday. Yolene good luck on the interview.
P.S. - Yolene I know you're going to read this and say to yourself, she didn't big me up for my birthday, but i didn't because we didn't post on your birthday. So do! nu badda cuss mi off.
