In related news

Boredom took over, and we watched a single episode of Lipstick Jungle. The show is a rip off of Cashmere Mafia, which is a rip off of Sex and the City. The shows are similar just that Lipstick Jungle is filled with menopausal old women who cry. It's like a animated version of More magazine. By the Way, like the graphic, get it, cause they're menopausal.....
And now for something completely different
SNL is back on air, with Tina Fey!!!
One of their best ad skits ever, a spoof on the pill Seasonale

Oh my, double videos, sorry I don't know how the get rid of it since the codes are hidden. Deal with it.

The Oscars

Has the Writers Strike deprived of so many things, that people are actually making a big fuss about the Oscars? I'm not here to discredit the Oscars, because it is still a big deal, but I don't think we've ever been this crazy about it. Well my hopes for winners would be.

No Country for Old Men
Juno
Into the Wild
Elizabeth
American Gangster
Sicko
Gone Baby Gone (Yolene & Yolanda are raving about this film)
There Will Be Blood (Granted I'm yet to see this film)

No Country for Old Men, is hands down one of the greatest movie the Coens Brothers have produced, with an amazing antagonist (Javier Bardem) and someone who just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time (Josh Brolin). Every frame is seamless, the atmosphere was perfect, and the movie has you in a choke hold for 122 minutes refusing to let go until you grasping for a breath at the end.

Juno is a surprise for me. When we watched this film just before going to Jamaica, I had no idea the movie would've been this big. I've seen Ellen Page before (Hard Candy & Mouth to Mouth, X:Men does not count in my book) but not like this, yes, at times the dialogue seems a bit forced but the movie was still great. Micheal Cera and Jason Bateman of Arrested Development fame, also provide great comedic relief. Another surprise was Jennifer Garner, I'm not exactly a fan of hers, but she did a good job.

Into the Wild, had been praised as the best movie of the decade, by my "friends" in the pirate world. I have only seen the beginning a few parts of the middle and the end, but from that the movie is great, it almost wants me to rush and spend 10 bucks on it, it's that good.

Elizabeth, was to say mix up. With so much going, I wondered if this was how middle aged women felt when watching a soap opera. With Cate Blanchett never missing a cue, and the sexy Clive Owen, being sexy, the movie couldn't have been any better.

American Gangster, to say in short, good film. Is it the best film on this list, no, but still a good film.

Sicko, great documentary, that gives me even more reason to move to the U.K. or meet up with my friend Pierre in Frace.
