GIRL TALK

He got me, the bastard got me.Now I've been hearing about this "Girl Talk" for quite some time now, but not until recently did I decide to even hear how his music sounds. It's a mashup of about 30 songs or so per track and it works, some of the songs that he pairs up are just so wrong, you have to giggle and then start dancing to it. Not all of the tracks work, like when Jimi Hendrix comes out of nowhere, it sounded more like an accident. Anyways, don't believe me, check out his myspace at.

www.myspace.com/girltalk

From there you can listen to his whole album, and buy it. For free (Radiohead style) pay $5 or $10. If you buy the $10 option you get extras plus a physical copy of the CD when it comes out. For now I have to say, Feed the Animals.

BLOW WOAH!!!! DUNN'S RIVA A COME TO WI!

In case you haven't been watching the news, been online, or just living in Wisconsin for that matter, the wonderful and great Mr. Olafur Eliasson, has decided to grace lovely NYC with waterfalls!!!! They're open from now to October 13, and they represent something or another about NY. I know that they have 4 = boroughs. ( I know there are 5 boroughs, but Staten Island does not count)
They are located at

Brooklyn Bridge (looks kinda awkward) [picture]
Pier 35
Governor's Island
Brooklyn Piers

I would recommend the one at Governor's Island, because
  1. Free ferry ride
  2. It look di prettiest
  3. You can rent a bike and have a bike ride while you're at it

Ho No!

Eliot Spitzer, need we say more? Thank you New York Post, for the the tasteless title. Well he's resigning and now David Paterson will be taking his place. I think they spend all night thinking to themselves until they found they right one and just say "Yep, this is it". And know I leave with a quote from Mr. Paterson himself "The only whores I know are lobbyists"

Booty Shorts Alarm

Well, SNL is back and funnier than it has been in well, a while. Ellen Page hosted last week, hilarity ensued. Watch the clip with Ellen Page and Kenan Thompson at Baby Gap.

In related news

Boredom took over, and we watched a single episode of Lipstick Jungle. The show is a rip off of Cashmere Mafia, which is a rip off of Sex and the City. The shows are similar just that Lipstick Jungle is filled with menopausal old women who cry. It's like a animated version of More magazine. By the Way, like the graphic, get it, cause they're menopausal.....
And now for something completely different
SNL is back on air, with Tina Fey!!!
One of their best ad skits ever, a spoof on the pill Seasonale

The Oscars

Has the Writers Strike deprived of so many things, that people are actually making a big fuss about the Oscars? I'm not here to discredit the Oscars, because it is still a big deal, but I don't think we've ever been this crazy about it. Well my hopes for winners would be.

No Country for Old Men
Juno
Into the Wild
Elizabeth
American Gangster
Sicko
Gone Baby Gone (Yolene & Yolanda are raving about this film)
There Will Be Blood (Granted I'm yet to see this film)

No Country for Old Men, is hands down one of the greatest movie the Coens Brothers have produced, with an amazing antagonist (Javier Bardem) and someone who just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time (Josh Brolin). Every frame is seamless, the atmosphere was perfect, and the movie has you in a choke hold for 122 minutes refusing to let go until you grasping for a breath at the end.

Juno is a surprise for me. When we watched this film just before going to Jamaica, I had no idea the movie would've been this big. I've seen Ellen Page before (Hard Candy & Mouth to Mouth, X:Men does not count in my book) but not like this, yes, at times the dialogue seems a bit forced but the movie was still great. Micheal Cera and Jason Bateman of Arrested Development fame, also provide great comedic relief. Another surprise was Jennifer Garner, I'm not exactly a fan of hers, but she did a good job.

Into the Wild, had been praised as the best movie of the decade, by my "friends" in the pirate world. I have only seen the beginning a few parts of the middle and the end, but from that the movie is great, it almost wants me to rush and spend 10 bucks on it, it's that good.

Elizabeth, was to say mix up. With so much going, I wondered if this was how middle aged women felt when watching a soap opera. With Cate Blanchett never missing a cue, and the sexy Clive Owen, being sexy, the movie couldn't have been any better.

American Gangster, to say in short, good film. Is it the best film on this list, no, but still a good film.

Sicko, great documentary, that gives me even more reason to move to the U.K. or meet up with my friend Pierre in Frace.
